Over 10 years ago, Keith Urban moved from Australia to Nashville to try and make it. He recently told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that the move was "preordained. I think it was all meant to be. I'd been touring quite a bit in Australia, and I didn't want to get too comfortable and too successful there, because it just makes it that much harder to go to the States and start all over again. I thought, 'If I'm going to starve and pay my dues, I'll just go to Nashville now. Of his 10-year "overnight success," he explained, "In Nashville, they just want to see that you're serious and you're committed and you're not just going to come in and carpetbag."
