PAT GREEN RECOVERING FROM ASSAULT

Pat Green, who was assaulted earlier this week on a beach in South Padre Island Texas, is recovering from the attack and may go on with his weekend shows, depending on how he is feeling nearer to showtime.

Green was with his wife and some band members on the beach when he was attacked by two men -- one of which has now been identified.

Police arrested 18-year-old Kenneth Andrew Babin, charging him with misdemeanor assault. He was arraigned and released on $5,000 bail.

A South Padre Island police chief told a Dallas newspaper that "Witnesses said it was unprovoked. One person was walking one way and another person was walking another way and decided to cold-cock Mr. Green."
