Opry Plans “Care Package”

The Grand Ole Opry is planning to send U.S. troops what’s being billed as “The World’s Largest Care Package.”

Visitors to the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville throughout October will write letters to the troops, while artists and the Opry itself will offer gifts, greeting cards, CDs and gift certificates. The items will be packaged by the Tennessee Marine Family organization and shipped to U.S. military bases around the world in 1,000 Priority Mail boxes provided for free by the U.S. Postal Service. The packages will be shipped before Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to arrive in time for Thanksgiving.
