Opry Inducts Charlie Daniels

Charlie Daniels was welcomed as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry in a special ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville,Jan. 19.

Charlie was inducted by Marty Stuart and wife Connie Smith. Marty told the crowd,"The Opry is American and its reach is universal. The Opry is family. God bless Charlie Daniels." After expressing his thanks, Charlie invited Marty and Connie, Trace Adkins and Montgomery Gentry to the stage for a group rendition of the classic, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken." During the induction, Charlie was also presented with the Opry Member Award, a 14–inch bronze and oak wood replica of the Opry's vintage microphone stand.
