The Oaks, one of the most innovative groups in music history, are embarking on another “first” in the industry, putting themselves up for auction on eBay to perform a show for the highest bidder on Dec. 31.

No other act in any genre has offered a concert via the Internet’s biggest public marketplace. “I have to admit, I am a huge fan of eBay,” the Oaks’ Joe Bonsall says. “How cool that we will be auctioned off for New Year’s Eve.” The auction winner gets an intimate show for family and friends in the venue of his or her choice—a restaurant, a hotel suite, even their own home—for a private New Year’s Eve party that will never be forgotten. “You name the place, enter your winning bid and we'll be there!” the Oaks’ Duane Allen promises.

The eBay auction will remain until Sept. 21, with a starting bid of $25,000 for the concert of a lifetime. Bidding is open at ebay for a truly unique New Year’s Eve with the Oak Ridge Boys. The item number is 180288146928.
