Most every country star has experienced rejection early in their career - and Keith Urban is no exception. When he first tried to make it in Nashville, he got a particularly memorable rejection letter, sort of a dark cloud with a silver lining.

"I remember when I came over in '89," said Keith, "I got a letter back from somebody at a record company who basically said, 'I really love your music,' but I think the quote was, 'Radio is currently enjoying a traditional climate of which you wouldn't be a part of. So I hope you find a good home in Nashville and hopefully the pendulum will swing that way to what you do.'" Instead of giving up, Keith was inspired by the "no." "It was so well put," he said, "it really made sense to me and it gave me inspiration to say, it's not that you're not good enough, it's just that you're not compatible with what's going on at the moment, but who knows? So that was all I needed to get back here and dig in."
