New Hank Williams Set Released Today

Never-before-heard recordings

Ever wonder what the legendary Hank Williams might have sounded like as a teenager? Now you can find out.

A new three-CD box set, Hank Williams: The Legend Begins, will be released to retail stores, amazon.com and other outlets starting Tuesday (Sept. 13).

The set offers Hank’s first recordings at 15 and 17 years old, which have never been heard before, along with his first radio series, The Health and Happiness Show. The recordings, made available through Time Life and the Estate of Hank Williams, have been restored using modern-day technology.

“I am very proud that these recordings have been made available to everyone,” said Hank Williams Jr., Hank’s son, in a statement about the release. “It was great to hear of their discovery, and then to share the treasure of daddy’s music is wonderful!”
