Nashville Writer Wins Idol Competition
Nashville writer Regie Hamm has been announced as the winner of the American Idol Songwriting Competition with his song, “The Time of My Life.”
The song will be performed on the season finale of American Idol by the newly-crowned champion, Wednesday, May 21, on FOX-TV at 9 p.m. ET. It will also be released as a single. Regie entered the Competition at the encouragement of his wife Yolanda, a big fan of the show. Two days later, he wrote “The Time of My Life” and made his submission. “The song is about living in the moment and embracing your blessings, and letting go of bitterness and past pain,” Regie says. Regie currently lives in Nashville with his wife and their two adopted children.
