NASHVILLE STAR PREMIERES TONIGHT

Don't miss the premiere episode of the third season of Nashville Star, which airs tonight on the USA Network at 10 p.m. Eastern. This year there's a new host, LeAnn Rimes and a different record label offering a contract-Universal South. There are also three new judges-artist Phil Vassar, talent manager Anastasia Brown, and Poison frontman Bret Michaels. What's Phil looking for? "I want to see someone who's different," he said. "If they write their own songs, that's great. But if not, I'd like to see someone who can interpret songs-someone who's a performer." Phil added that signing new artists who've never performed in front of a crowd has become too common in Nashville. "They should know what to do if their ear monitors go out, if the P.A. goes out or if someone throws a drink-anything like that." LeAnn, who's been performing for most of her life, said, "I want someone to blow me away. I haven't seen that in a long time."
