NASHVILLE STAR PREMIERES TONIGHT

Nashville Star kicks off its fifth season with ten new finalists Thursday, Jan. 11, on the USA Network at 10 p.m. ET.

The premiere will be an extended 75-minute episode. Pop star Jewel has been added to the new season as a co-host, along with returning host Cowboy Troy. Also, two new judges will be assessing the talent this year, Blake Shelton and Alabama lead vocalist Randy Owen, joining music industry executive Anastasia Brown on the panel. Nashville Star has become the longest-running talent show on cable television, and past winners include Buddy Jewell, Brad Cotter, Erika Jo and last season’s champion Chris Young. This season’s winner, as determined by viewers and fans, will be crowned March 1.
