Nashville Predators Acquire Mike Fisher

It's official—Carrie and her Canadian hubby, Mike Fisher, are coming home to Nashville. Nashville Predators general manager David Poile announced that Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators was acquired in exchange for draft picks from Nashville.

“We were seeking a top-six forward and Mike Fisher was the player we set our sights on,” David said, according to the Nashville Predators' official website. “He plays playoff-style hockey all season long. He plays on the power play, kills penalties, is strong on draws and can match up against any opposing line.”

Mike became available when it became clear that Ottawa would not be in playoff contention this year. “I love the city. I’d love to play my whole career here. We’ll just see what happens,” Mike told the Ottawa Citizen last month when trade rumors began.

Carrie and Mike recently built a home near Ottawa.

He'll play his first game for Nashville on Feb. 12.
