Smith County Sheriff's Lt. Larry Wiginton told the Tyler Morning Telegraph newspaper, “Basically, [the fan] said she wanted to get her picture with Miranda and that Miranda pushed and shoved her a couple of times.” Miranda was at the club with boyfriend Blake Shelton to support fellow musician Adam Hood at his CD release party. Aisha Esbay, the fan making the allegation, reports that she approached Miranda for an autograph and was told “maybe later.” The fan adds that another member of her party was also treated poorly. “I walked back over there to tell Miranda that she shouldn’t treat her fans like that and she jumped up and started cussing me,” Esbay says. Miranda then shoved her twice, alleges Esbay. Wiginton notes that if evidence points to an assault, Miranda would be charged with a Class C misdemeanor, which is equal to a traffic citation.
