First-time fatherhood for Eli Young Band frontman

Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band has become a first-time father, as he and wife Kacey welcomed daughter Kline Olivia Diaz, July 30.
The little girl, the first child for Mike and his wife, was born in Dallas and weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces. The baby's first name is apparently in keeping with the tradition of "K" names, which runs in both families.
The child was due in late August but arrived early, which caused some anxious moments for Mike and his wife. "When Kacey's water broke, I was taking a nap after taking an extremely early flight from the Rascal Flatts date in Chicago," Mike tells CountryWeekly.com via e-mail. "We were at the hospital before we knew it. The water breaking thing really makes it tough when you are more of the planner type."
Mike will not have much time to enjoy the new arrival, however, as the band is currently on tour with Rascal Flatts.
