Mel Tillis Invited to Join Opry

Country music legend Mel Tillis was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Saturday night, May 12.

We’d love to have you.” Mel, obviously moved, replied, “This is another part of a dream yet to be fulfilled. The Opry’s always been on my mind.” Mel was soon joined onstage by his daughter Pam, an Opry member since 2000, and his son Mel, Jr. Pam will formally induct her dad at the June 9 Grand Ole Opry show.
