Marty Stuart Honors Mississippi music

Marty Stuart is a well-known champion for country music's history. He recently combined his love of country music with his pride for his home state of Mississippi by helping to campaign for the newly minted Mississippi Country Music Trail.

Marty unveiled the first marker near Meridian in honor of Mississippian Jimmy Rodgers on June 1. The next marker will honor Marty himself, and will be placed in his hometown of Philadelphia, Miss. Additional markers have yet to be unveiled, but will honor Mississippi natives Faith Hill, Charley Pride, Conway Twitty, Jerry Clower and Paul Overstreet.
