Martina Was the Wedding Singer—for Her Own Wedding

Martina brings 23 years' experience into her role as wedding singer for the ACM Awards

Martina McBride will be the wedding singer for the Academy of Country Music Awards show's first-ever live marriage Sunday night (April 1). She and Train's Pat Monahan will perform "Marry Me" for a couple who met in a support group for widows and widowers.

And Martina brings lots of experience to the gig, at least 23 years worth. Martina, you see, sang at her own wedding.

She and her sound engineer hubby, John, had a friend sing "Till There Was You."

And then, Martina, in her wedding dress, grabbed the mic and sang "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do."

Wow! So did her hubby John return the favor and offer up his own tune?

"Oh, no," Martina told CountryWeekly.com.

"He always says he'd be a great singer if it weren't for his voice," she said, laughing.
