Martina to Turn Empire State Building Pink

She'll perform “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” among other songs.

Martina McBride is passionate about lending her megawatt voice to charitable causes. On Oct. 14, Martina will help raise awareness for breast cancer by lighting New York City's Empire State Building pink. Following the lighting, Martina will host Martina McBride: Light Up the Sky in partnership with Stanford Women's Cancer Center. The event includes a VIP-invite reception and a private concert performance.

This marks the first time an artist has been allowed the opportunity to perform a private concert at the building. Martina's current single, "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," is dedicated to women who have breast cancer and to their supporters. The song is one of the tunes that Martina will sing from the top of the Empire State Building, and the performance will be air on Clear Channel Radio websites.

Keeping the "pink" theme going, Martina recently signed on to "flip the switch" and turn the Grand Ole Opry House's signature barn backdrop pink on Oct. 22 as part of the third annual "Opry Goes Pink" show, as a partnership with Women Rock for the Cure.
