In case you weren't aware, Martina McBride has a highly mobilized, passionate and philanthropic group of fans.

Team Martina, as this group of volunteers is known, recently bestowed the Martina McBride Breast Cancer Research Grant of $40,550 to Nashville’s Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. The gift was made through the T.J. Martell Foundation, the music industry charity that funds research for leukemia, cancer and AIDS.

The donation was made in honor of Taira Baughman, a Team Martina member who appeared in the powerful video for “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” and lost her courageous battle with breast cancer earlier in 2013.

“I am so proud of this amazing team of volunteers,” said Martina in a statement. “They are truly making the world a better place with their fundraising efforts and I’m honored they are doing it in my name. We give this grant in honor of our friend and team mate Taira Baughman who was an inspiration to so many. She dedicated her life to her family and to helping others and this grant will undoubtedly touch the lives of countless women.”

Since 2011, Team Martina has raised more than $100,000 for numerous causes.
