Martina McBride, Kacey Musgraves and Chris Young fired up an already-warm evening as they headlined the annual Grammy Block Party at Owen Bradley Park in Nashville, Tuesday night (May 13). The free bash for Grammy members and their invited guests also welcomed Jim Lauderdale, Brandy Clark and others to the outdoor stage.

Martina drew the loudest and easily most boisterous response with her set, featuring songs from her latest album, Everlasting, a collection of soul and R&B covers. “I’ve always wanted to play this gig,” Martina told the packed crowd. Amped up by a full horn section and backup vocalists, Martina belted out Van Morrison’s “Wild Night,” The Supremes’ soul classic “Come See About Me” and other selections from the record. She added her own hits to the mix, including “When God-Fearin’ Women Get the Blues” and “A Broken Wing.” The audience erupted in applause with each selection.

Kacey kept the good times going with her acclaimed debut single, “Merry Go ’Round,” “Follow Your Arrow” and more. Chris Young wrapped up the night with a solid set of his biggest hits.
