McBride, Martina

Martina McBride, who has spent 18 years with RCA Nashville, has a new label home: Republic Nashville, which is part of the Big Machine Label Group.

The announcement was made at a press conference held in Nashville today (Nov. 8) at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

"I'm excited to have [Republic Nashville's] passion, excitement and energy focused on my career," Martina told those in attendance.

Martina has scored 19 Billboard Top 10 singles, including five No. 1s. The Big Machine Label Group is home to Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Trisha Yearwood and Jewel, among others.

According to Big Machine Label Group president and CEO Scott Borchetta, Martina will begin recording in January for a possible late first quarter 2011 single release, but, he noted, "The music will have to lead."
