Martina McBride and Friends Take On Cancer

Stars come together in support of Women Cancer Survivors.

Martina McBride is joining a group of celebrities to help honor National Cancer Survivors Day, June 2. In support of this important day, the Women's Survivor Alliance and the National Women's Survivors Convention are summoning women cancer survivors to submit essays entitled "Survivorship: My Second Act."

Women cancer survivors are being encouraged to write essays of 500 words or less detailing what they have learned from their cancer experiences. The essay submissions will be displayed in the 'Second Act Showcase" at the National Women's Survivors Convention Aug. 22–24 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort Hotel in Nashville.

Celebrities such as Olympic champions Scott Hamilton and Shannon Miller, Bravo television's Tabatha Coffey and others will appear and speak at the convention.

The "Second Act Showcase" will then follow the attendees to the Grand Ole Opry, Aug. 24, where Martina McBride will be performing. Concert attendees will have the exciting opportunity to view the showcase while the Opry is turned purple in honor of cancer survivors.

Deadline for essay submissions is July 31. To register for the conference and for more information, please visit survivorsconvention.com.
