MARTINA GETS MUSEUM

Barber County, Kansas is honoring its native daughter, Martina McBride, with her own museum. The Martina McBride Museum will be a national attraction that honors the country superstar's past and current achievements. It will feature three-dimensional and audio-visual displays of Martina's awards, memorabilia and highlights of her career. The museum will be housed in a 750 sq. ft. exhibit hall and will contain replicas of Martina's CMA awards, framed gold and platinum award plaques, gift items that Martina received from fans, clothes she wore in her videos, and even a section of the late Dale Earnhardt's race car with Martina's name on it. Barber County residents hope the museum will bring 10,000 visitors a year to Kansas and will increase tourism-related business in the area through the hotels, restaurants and convenience stores.
