Make No Mistake, Ravens Fans: Keith Urban Loves the Titans

Aussie will kick off the 2013 NFL season with a live show: “I’ve fallen in love with American football,” he says.

Yes, only in America can an Australian kick off an NFL season, and Keith Urban is set to do just that around 7:30 ET Thursday night (Sept. 5) on NBC and the NFL Network.

While the Ravens travel to Denver for the big game, Keith will be back in Baltimore beforehand, playing on a floating stage in the city’s famed Inner Harbor.

But don’t get confused, Ravens fans—Keith and his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, love them some Tennessee Titans. Well, since there have been Tennessee Titans, anyway.

“We didn’t have an NFL team when I moved here to Nashville. It was 21 years ago? But since then the emergence of the Titans has made me a Titans supporter,” Keith told ABC News Radio.

“Nic and I go to a few games a season here in Nashville. Yeah, I mean, I’ve fallen in love with American football over the years. It’s a great game particularly to go and be a part of.”

Keith isn’t the only country star going to LP Field for Titans games. Kix Brooks and Reba McEntire are also there for most home games, and virtually every major country star has sung the national anthem there.
