Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” Crashes the Sales Chart at No. 1
Earns third-biggest sales week of any album in 2013.
In case you weren't already certain, 2013 belongs to Luke Bryan. The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year is continuing his current streak of country party domination with yet another huge achievement.
Luke's fourth full-length album Crash My Party (featuring the hit title track and new single "That's My Kind of Night"), bowed last Tuesday (Aug. 13) and racked up an incredible first-week tally of slightly less than 528,000 units to land at No. 1 across all genres, according to Billboard. Translation: Crash My Party can claim the third-biggest sales week so far in 2013, behind only Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience and Jay-Z's Magna Carta . . . Holy Grail.
Beyond that, Crash My Party is also the biggest first-week sales total for a male country artist since 2004, when Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying shifted 766,000 copies upon its release. For another interesting factoid, Luke is just one of two country artists (including Taylor Swift) to exceed 500,000 first-week units sold since 2008.
“I’ve never been this excited about an album that I have put out, and the response I have gotten is really humbling and mind-blowing to me,” Luke said in a statement. “I am lucky to have some of the best fans in the world, and I am happy to see them enjoying this album as much as I do. I’m just so thankful for my fans and for Country radio for the amazing support.”
Forgive us for saying it, but it does indeed sound like a surefire winner, winner.
