Luke Bryan Offers Thomas Rhett Marital Advice

Country Weekly sends congratulations to Thomas Rhett and new wife Lauren Gregory. The couple married Friday (Oct 12) in Nashville.

It was Luke Bryan, though, who had his back when others were skeptical of the 22-year-old's impending nuptials. Thomas Rhett's dad, country star Rhett Akins, tells Country Weekly, "Everybody told him no, this is not what he should do, except Luke. He called Luke three or four times and Luke was like, 'Buddy, if you're in love and you want to get married, then do it.' I think Luke was a huge part of Thomas Rhett going, 'Hey, I can do this.'"

Rhett, who made it to the final show of Luke's Farm Tour in Macon, Ga., the day after the wedding, also believes in the couple's commitment. "When I saw them stare at each other the entire 20 minutes they were saying their vows, it's like these two people are meant to be together. They are beyond in love," he says. "Everybody there that had doubted or wondered if they were too young, all the doubts are gone now."

The young couple is honeymooning in Hawaii, and upon their return, Thomas Rhett hits the road through the end of the year, including dates on Chris Young's Liquid Neon Tour.
