Luke Bryan to Join American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips for MLB All-Star Game

Kellie Pickler will perform “God Bless America” during the game.

Luke Bryan was an avid supporter of American Idol contestant (and fellow Leesburg, Ga., native) Phillip Phillips during Phillip's American Idol run, during which he was ultimately crowned this year's American Idol. "What’s crazy about him is that he’s already an artist, it feels like," Luke told CountryWeekly.com shortly before Phillip's win. "He’s got a style—an artistic style—that is truly different."

Both are scheduled to perform at Major League Baseball's All-Star Game in Kansas City, Mo., on Tuesday (July 10).

Luke will sing the national anthem, while Phillip will do a pre-game performance of his single "Home" as part of a special on-field tribute to the tornado recovery efforts happening in Joplin, Mo., and in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Another American Idol alum, Kellie Pickler, will perform "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.

All three performances will air on FOX.
