Luke Bryan Has Top Country Album

Luke has best-selling week ever with Tailgates & Tanlines.

Sure, he has country girls shaking it for him all over the world. And Luke Bryan is shaking things up all over the charts, with many personal bests after the debut week of sales for Tailgates & Tanlines.

The album sold more than 145,000 in its first week, Luke's best single week of sales ever. That number was good enough to score Luke his first-ever No. 1 album on the country charts. And Luke landed at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, his highest debut there. The Jay-Z/Kanye West album Watch the Throne took the top spot with nearly a half million in sales.

Brad Paisley is the only country artist to have had better single-week sales than Luke this year.

"I'm very proud of this album, and to have fans connect with the music in this way is exciting and really humbling," Luke said in a statement.
