Lucy Hale Plans Debut Country Single

Industry showcase is a success.

You might expect that being a TV star would be more nerve-wracking than being a country music star, but Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale said she was a bundle of nerves before her industry showcase in Nashville the week of the CMA Awards.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been more nervous in my life,” the petite brunette told Country Weekly. “People always think I’m so composed and are like, ‘Do you ever get nervous?’ You’d be shockingly surprised with how nervous I get, but I guess that’s where the acting comes in because I just try to mask it. But I was thrilled with how it went over. Everyone was really welcoming and everyone was super-supportive and it kind of went exactly how I wanted it to go.”

Which is to say, it went well. In fact, Lucy has her first country single, “You Sound Good to Me,” ready to ship to country radio early in 2014.

The tune was written by Ashley Gorley (Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel”), Luke Laird (Little Big Town’s “Pontoon”) and Hillary Lindsey (Lady Antebellum’s “American Honey”).

“No big deal,” says Lucy, laughing. “Just three of the biggest writers in Nashville.”
