Lorenzo Lamas Is Coming To Music City

Sept. 2 charity ride concludes with Big & Rich concert.

Actor Lorenzo Lamas and television producer Chad Gruelach are combining their love of motorcycles and the military for a charity motorcycle ride, Rumble for the Heartland, which will take place Sept. 2 in the Nashville area.

The ride and related events will benefit Operation Homeland, which helps the families of deployed U.S. service members, and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Lorenzo and Chad will help lead groups of bikers from a Harley-Davidson dealership in Clarksville, Tenn., to the Woods at Fontanel concert venue in Whites Creek, Tenn. The day will conclude with a concert by Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and Cowboy Troy, a stop on their Xtreme Muzik Tour.

Chad and Big & Rich's John Rich have been friends since Chad served as executive producer of the CMT series Gone Country, in which John starred and hosted. "We met in 2008," Chad recalls. "John and I bonded over our support of the military and he and I coordinated a Veterans Day celebration in the 2009 season of Gone Country."

Lorenzo, best known for his role on the popular USA Network series Renegade as well as feature films, studied at a military academy in New Jersey when he was a teenager and came away with great respect for the military. "I learned a real work ethic and a sense of selflessness," Lorenzo says. "I am proud to do this event for our men and women in the service."
