Lindsay Ell Is More Than Just a Guitar Player

Yes, Lindsay Ell really is playing guitar in the video for her debut single, “Trippin’ on Us,” but that isn’t the only instrument that the talented young newcomer possesses some prowess with.

“Piano is actually my first instrument,” she tells Country Weekly. “My mom got my brother and I playing classical piano when we were young and I’m thankful for it today because it gives you that theoretical base that is so good to learn any other instrument off of.”

Any instrument except for maybe the violin. “My grandpa built violins, so he made my dad one, and he made me one for Christmas. But the violin—that’s a hard instrument to learn!” She laughs, acknowledging that she’s no threat to Charlie Daniels, but admits that she’ll be sticking to guitar. “It’s my safe place,” she says, smiling.
