LEANN RIMES UPDATE

LeAnn Rimes is trying to lighten up. In an interview, LeAnn spoke about wanting to be perfect yet having the freedom to make mistakes and have a good time. But life is anything but normal for this child star who won 2 Grammy Awards by the age of 13.

At the ripe old age of 21 she is married and thinking about the future. She has even made peace with her father. Before her marriage to Dean Sheremet she realized: "To not have a picture of my father at my wedding to show my children -- I thought, 'OK, that's really going to be screwed up.' "

She has a new video in the works that was shot on location in Exchange Alley in New Orleans and on August 23-24 she will be headlining Ben & Jerry's annual One World One Heart Festival on the historic site of the original Woodstock Festival in Bethel, New York. The event will also feature co-headliner Tracy Chapman, Third Eye Blind and Hootie & The Blowfish's Darius Rucker.

On top of everythng else, LeAnn's first children's book, "Jag," about a little jaguar that hates to be teased, is due out this month. LeAnn will be autographing copies on Thursday, August 25th, at New York City's Barnes & Noble in Rockefeller Center. Meet her in person and don't forget to wish her a Happy Birthday, she will be 22 on August 28th!
