Lauren Alaina Gets a Birthday Surprise—and Her Prom!

Lauren Alaina got to celebrate her birthday, and enjoy the prom she never had, as family and friends pulled a nifty surprise on the young star.

Lauren turned 18 on Nov. 8 and, this past weekend, was under the impression that she was going to dinner with a group of family and friends at a spot in her hometown of Rossville, Ga. When Lauren arrived, she was surprised by a birthday bash that also had a prom theme, with members of her high school waiting for her along with family and friends.

The idea behind the surprise was to re-create the school's junior prom, which Lauren had to miss because of her touring schedule. Party planner Jayne Bubis thought of everything, even including a special prom dress for Lauren to change into.

Also in attendance was Jordan Trunfio, a high school student from Springfield, Va., who is suffering from a brain tumor. Lauren surprised him when she made an appearance at Jordan's homecoming dance earlier this year.

Lauren is coming off her current 18-City Inch-by-Inch Tour and is gearing up for the 2012 American Country Awards, Dec. 10, where she is nominated for Artist of the Year: New Artist.
