Lady A Sells Out First U.K. Show

Lady Antebellum sold out its first European headlining gig, and it’s at a rather auspicious venue in London.

The place is called Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and it’s a groovy 2,000-seat venue that was a BBC television studio for nearly 40 years.

Acts such as Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift have played the smaller venue because the vibe is so cool.

Shepherd’s Bush Empire also is the place where Dixie Chicks’ lead singer Natalie Maines criticized then-President Bush onstage in 2003, effectively ending the Chicks’ career at country radio.

Lady A kicks off its first headlining tour in the U.S. Sept. 20 in Orlando, Fla.
