Lady A Opens With . . . a Whisper?

Lady Antebellum (2010-onstage)

Lady Antebellum opened its first-ever headliner tour last night (Sept. 20) in Orlando, Fla.

The crowd loved it, the local newspaper critic loved it, and the group loved it.

“We will NEVER forget tonight Orlando. First show of our FIRST headlining tour. Thank you thank you thank you for a great night...,” Lady A tweeted afterward.

Jim Abbott of the Orlando Sentinel said Lady A—with the excitement of opening night—could’ve come out with guns blazing.

Instead, Charles Kelly, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood opened with acoustic versions of “I Run to You” and “American Honey.”

“The stripped-down format demonstrated immediately that these folks can sing. . . ,” the critic wrote.
