Kristofferson to Receive CMT Honor
Kris Kristofferson, one of country music’s greatest songwriters and performers, will receive the Johnny Cash Visionary Award from CMT, Monday night, April 16.
The award, which recognizes an artist’s musical vision and contributions, will be presented to Kris by Rosanne Cash, Johnny Cash’s daughter, at the 2007 CMT Music Awards. “I really appreciate it, especially since it’s called the Johnny Cash Visionary Award,” Kris told Nashville’s daily newspaper The Tennessean. “He was always such an inspiration for me, just like he was for Bob Dylan and a lot of others.” The 2007 CMT Music Awards, which honors the year’s top videos, airs live from Nashville on CMT, April 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
