Kimberly Perry Practiced Her Interview With Brad Paisley

She and Luke Bryan co-host ABC’s highlights show from this summer’s CMA Music Festival.

OK, so you've heard of candidates preparing for presidential debates by having practice debates?

Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry did the same thing to get ready for her hosting gig for the CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock special, which airs at 8 p.m. ET Monday (Sept. 17) on ABC.

Seems Kimberly was a little nervous about interviewing big stars like Brad Paisley, who's known for a quick wit.

"I didn't know what a co-host was supposed to do ," Kimberly—who co-hosts the TV special with Luke Bryan—told reporters during the actual CMA Music Festival this past summer.

"I actually practiced for my interviews, because I had never done an interview before, and Reid and Neil and I, they played Brad 1 and Brad 2 in the bus before I went out and did that and kind of threw me some curveballs," she said. "That's what I did to prepare."

Luke added, "Interviewing Faith [Hill] was a big deal for me. She's just such a massive figure to me."

No word on whether Luke practiced his Faith interview beforehand.
