Kid Rock Won’t Let Kenny Chesney Pick the Restaurant

Strange but true: Kid Rock has had a place in Nashville for a decade or so, and he's been coming to Music City for almost twice that long.

The rocker has made many country music pals, including Kenny Chesney, though their relationship got off to a rocky start 12 years or so ago.

Mr. Rock asked Kenny for some “back-porch home cooking, barbecue" in Nashville and Kenny picked a place that Kid Rock never heard of, Kid Rock told GQ.

The place: P.F. Chang’s, a trendy high-end Asian food chain.

“I walk in there—I’m like, ‘Are you [expletive] kidding me?’ And of course Kenny’s, like, getting—‘Mr. Chesney, would you like the usual?’ and he’s got, like, a little umbrella drink,” he said, laughing.

“I’m like, ‘What is this [expletive] place?’ He’s like, ‘Oh, it’s my favorite restaurant.’ This is the exact opposite of what I had in mind.”
