KENNY ROGERS -- STILL GAMBLING

Twenty-four years ago, Kenny Rogers released his #1 hit song, "The Gambler," and it's still going strong.

Kenny is in talks with writers and TV execs to put out a new TV movie based on "The Gambler," the fifth installment of its kind since 1980.

There have been "Gambler" episodes in 1980, 1987, 1991 and 1994 -- this latest installment should feature Kenny in his role of Brady Hawkes, although there is no official word as of yet.

Also unknown is the release date, who will co-star and what network it will be broadcast on so stay tuned for updates.

Kenny's original recording of "The Gambler" won two Grammy Awards, was declared Song of the Year by the Country Music Association, hailed as Single of the Year by the Music City News AND was given the honor of one of the Songs of the Century by the National Endowment for the Arts.
