Kenny Rogers and Dolly: Reunited

Superstars set for duet on Kenny’s new album.

Kenny Rogers has a special treat in store with his upcoming new album, You Can’t Make Old Friends, set for release Oct. 8.

Kenny will reunite with one of his favorite duet partners, the inimitable Dolly Parton, for a duet on the title track. The two superstars combined 30 years ago for one of the most memorable duets in country history, “Islands in the Stream,” a No. 1 hit in 1983.

“What a thrill it was for me to work again with my buddy Dolly Parton, and what a special song,” Kenny notes. “Working with Dolly is always a little like going home.”

You Can’t Make Old Friends will showcase more sides of Kenny’s repertoire, with Southwest and zydeco-flavored songs mixed with Kenny’s popular blend of country and soul.

“The musical diversity is extraordinary,” Kenny says. “We chose what I think are the most diverse and best songs I’ve ever had access to.”

Kenny will also be kicking off his ever-popular Christmas & Hits Through the Years Tour on Dec. 1, with special guest Linda Davis.
