KENNY MEETS VAN HALEN

Kenny Chesney recently took his band to see legendary group Van Halen rock the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH. "Van Halen just blew us all away," says Kenny. "I mean, Diver Down was the very first rock record I ever bought - all the way back in the 8th grade. And for a kid as country as I was, we're talking a HUGE deal. And there we were, completely rocking out - almost like Beavis & Butthead, Garth & Wayne from 'Wayne's World,' because it's so cool to just be a fan, to see the people who showed you how big the music could be." Kenny didn't just see the show. He also went backstage and jammed with Van Halen's lead singer, Sammy Hagar.
