Kenny Invites George to Sing Along

Kenny Chesney has a special guest vocalist on a track from his upcoming album, Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates—George Strait.

George joins Kenny on the song “Shiftwork,” and Kenny could not be happier. “The idea that I get to be friends with someone who was such an influence on me is plenty,” Kenny says. “But to have him on my record, well, that’s the ultimate deal, ‘cause George doesn’t sing with very many people, and I never thought, growing up, I might be one of them.” Kenny adds that the calypso-style Texas shuffle is his favorite song on the CD. “I’ve never heard a country song handle punching the clock quite like that,” he explains. Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates hits stores Sept. 11.
