KENNY CHESNEY'S GOOD AS GOLD

His year-round tan isn't the only golden thing about Kenny Chesney. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) will soon be certifying Kenny's Be As You Are: Songs From An Old Blue Chair album as gold. The CD sold 508,855 copies only three weeks after being released. "One thing I can say about my fans [is that] they respond to the music - and they care about me," said Kenny. He added that the gold status of Be As You Are proved to him that his fans love him on and off the stage. "[This album] is about my life in the islands - the place I go to get away from being 'that guy.' But it's also something I'm willing to share with the fans, who aren't really so different from me."
