Kenny Chesney Unwittingly Brings Hearts—and Kidneys—Together

Country fan gives his wife a kidney.

Ohio woman Ashley Pauley blew off her future husband Steve when they first met a decade or so ago. She thought he was too sarcastic, she tells the Wilmington News Journal.

It took a Kenny Chesney concert for Ashley to realize she thought Steve's tractor was sexy. Out of thousands and thousands of fans, Ashley and Steve reconnected, and the two eventually got married.

Then, Ashley developed a rare kidney disease—and Steve successfully donated one of his kidneys to her.

“It was like that concert was meant to be,” Steve told the newspaper.

“Yup,” Ashley said. “God gave us a second chance.”

The article ends with lyrics from Kenny's “Fall in Love”: “‘A match made in heaven if there ever was’—Kenny Chesney.”
