Kenny Chesney Rocks Out in Mexico With Sammy Hagar

Kenny Chesney has always been a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, and he proved that once again this past weekend (Oct. 12) when he joined former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar onstage at the iconic rocker’s annual birthday bash in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The appearance marked the third time Kenny has performed at Sammy’s party, held each October at the Cabo Wabo Cantina nightclub.

“Kenny Chesney and his whole band is playin' . . . a concert for me. It’s the best birthday present any human being will ever have in their life,” Sammy, who turned 65, said in a YouTube video with Kenny and celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse.

“Kenny holds the record for the longest show at the Cabo Wabo,” Sammy remarked of the three-hour concert, which found the Red Rocker, Emeril and Kenny all jamming out on “I Can’t Drive 55.”

In 2008, Kenny recruited Sammy to tour with him on a few dates of his Poets & Pirates Tour.
