Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw Tour Is Tops for Country Entertainers

You probably could've guessed this one as soon as it was announced: Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw had the top-grossing country tour of 2012.

What is interesting, however, is that the Brothers of the Sun Tour finished No. 7 for all genres according to figures compiled by Billboard magazine, beating out monster tours by Van Halen, Jay Z/Kanye West and the Dave Matthews Band.

Kenny and Tim grossed more than $96 million and played to more than a million fans. That's more than twice the revenue of country's second biggest touring act of the year (and No. 13 overall), Jason Aldean, who grossed around $40 million, but also played to almost a million fans this year.

The rest of country's top five:

* Lady Antebellum took in $38.4 million and played to about 860,000 fans.

* Brad Paisley grossed $33.8 million and played to about 486,000 fans.

* Taylor Swift grossed $26.3 million, playing to 286,000 fans.
