Kenny Chesney caught passes and punts as he worked out with the New Orleans Saints NFL football team in a full practice, Aug. 11, at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.

Kenny, good friends with Saints head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees, practiced with the team for the second year in a row. And, according to coach Payton, Kenny showed marked improvement. Kenny managed to catch a 45-yard punt and ran several plays with the Saints’ starting lineup. “Last year, as a rookie, we overlooked some things,” said the coach. “But as a second-year player, we really needed to see some things. We saw it today—Chesney is part of our team.” Kenny said afterward, “These guys are in unbelievable condition, and just keeping up makes me feel like I’m hitting my marks.”
