Kenny, Band Perry, ZBB to Be Part of Today Show Summer Series

NBC's morning show invites Kenny and Zac Brown Band back to do summer concerts.

It's a little like the old Dick Clark New Year's Eve bashes, only much warmer. Well, and much brighter, since it's early in the morning. OK, maybe it's not much like Dick Clark's New Year's Eve parties at all.

But Kenny Chesney (June 22), The Band Perry (June 1) and the Zac Brown Band (July 13) all will play outside in New York City as part of the annual NBC Today show's summer concert series, the network has announced.

That series kicks off May 18 with pop/hip-hop singer Usher.

Both Zac Brown and Kenny Chesney played for the Today show last summer as well, but it'll be a first for The Band Perry.

Other (kinda) country connections to this summer's series:

Blake Shelton's The Voice BFF Adam Levine brings his band, Maroon 5, to Rockefeller Plaza on June 29. And Taylor Swift's pop friend (and co-writer) Justin Bieber plays the series June 15.
