Pop star Kelly Clarkson, who is poised to launch a full-blown country career, announced her engagement today via Twitter.

"I'm ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted ya'll to know!! Happiest night of my life last night!" Kelly tweeted.

Kelly has been dating Brandon Blackstock, the stepson of her dear friend Reba McEntire, for almost a year. Brandon is the son of Kelly's manager, Narvel Blackstock, who is married to Reba.

"I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever," continued Kelly, who later tweeted a photo of her engagement ring, a yellow canary diamond. 

The singer wowed country fans with a performance of "Don't Rush" with Vince Gill during November's Country Music Association Awards and recently appeared on the cover of Country Weekly. Her Greatest Hits album was released last month.
