Kelly Clarkson Covers Pistol Annies

“This is going to be very Janis [Joplin],” says Kelly, “but that’s OK. This is Texas!”

Texans must love their Pistol Annies. During a recent concert, Kelly Clarkson took requests for cover songs, among them "Hell on Heels," originally performed by Pistol Annies members Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.

Kelly put her signature high-wattage vocal stamp on the song, covering all three parts performed by the three ladies of Pistol Annies, but gave the audience advance warning the song might be a challenge. "My voice is a little raspy. This is going to be very Janis [Joplin]," said Kelly, "but that's OK. This is Texas!"

Kelly has previously covered songs by Taylor Swift ("Cold As You"), Reba McEntire ("Why Haven't I Heard From You") and Carrie Underwood ("I Know You Won't") and will perform "Don't You Wanna Stay" with Jason Aldean during the Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 12).

We wonder if Kelly will be made an honorary Annie after the trio hears this performance?
