ABC’s Nashville starts again tonight (Jan. 15), and yet another real-life artist will be part of the show.

Kelly Clarkson appears, and she’s interested in a song that Gunnar and Scarlett have written.

The cast was psyched to have Kelly tape an episode with them, Charles “Chip” Esten (who plays Deacon) tells ABC News Radio.

“It’s kind of unbelievable, No. 1, the amount of talent she has, but, No. 2, is just how cool she is,” Chip said. “She’s just the best. She’s sweet, she’s funny, and we’re real lucky to have her.”

And Juliette Barnes, or, uh, Hayden Panettiere, says she’s disappointed that her character wasn’t in a scene with Kelly.

“She’s really lively and fun and doesn’t stop smiling, that girl,” Hayden tells ABC News Radio. “I’m really bummed that I didn’t get to do the scene with her. I was like, ‘What? No! Pick me! Ooh, pick me! I want to act with her!’ But, I can’t wait to see it.”
